Salesmen, Salesmen, Salesmen!

In the nightclub and bar business, there is no shortage of salesmen. From liquor to beer, from bar supplies to advertising, from bathroom suppliers to ice machines and everything in between.

The key to salesmen is turning into promotion partners. Any liquor, beer, food, media salesman should also be offering you numerous promotion opportunities.

Hey, anyone can take an order and take your money. It is time you demanded, yes I mean demanded that your video game man, your jukebox man, your cigarette man, involve themselves in promotions in your establishment.

The fact that you never asked, the fact that you do so much business with them, the fact that it is a two way street, you order, you pay and now the street works this way. They co-promote an event, a theme night, a special party. The days of simply taking your money and not giving you more than just the product you buy are over.

I demand my clients get "promotion rewards" from their vendors. First of all it is only common sense. The more exposure and the more push and pump you give their product the more it will sell.

Liquor brands are facing fierce competition and it is imperative that they interact with strong promotions that tie in music, drink specials, and a red hot event. It is the "3 promotion punch" that makes for successful promotions. And every salesman that calls on you should be offering you promotions. And if they are not, then call their supervisors and demand that you be offered a unique promotions.

If you don't ask you don't get.

Every nightclub that is worth its weight in gold, puts the heat on its salesmen to create, deliver and present promotions. There is no reason you can't, regardless of the size of your establishment.

Call me, e-mail me, fax me. It's a war out there, and you can't afford to let any promotion opportunity pass you by. If all it takes is asking your salesmen to deliver than by all means open your mouth and ask!
