HEY CLUB OWNERS STOP CRYING OVER HOW DEAD IT IS AND DO SOMETHING TO
PACK YOUR CLUB!!!!!!!
By Rich Unger
I have never heard from so many club owners that are facing stiff competition, that are facing slow and fading nights, that were once
packed. So many self pity Managers and owners who should all throw a "Pity
Party" for themselves, because they refuse to do anything that will cost them
money, that will rebuild, re-establish re take their market share of the
nightlife in their communities.
Don't cry to me, I have no tolerance, zero tolerance for club owners
and managers who refuse to fight back, who refuse to promote, who refuse to
take outside advice. If so many clubs were doing so well, why do so many close, change
owners, change formats? Because you have to be on the cutting edge, not in the back of the
pack.
Flyers! I have never seen so many clubs skimp on flyers and make their
own hideous computer generated flyers that bottom line are pure garbage.
When you try to scrimp and save and create your own
"in-house" flyers that are cheesy to say the least, you do your club a great injustice.
Why print a computer generated cheap looking no impact, flyer? Stop being a nickel and dime Club operator and spring for the real
thing. A high gloss, high profile, high impact Flyer and Poster and banner!
Radio commercials, why let disc jockeys who simply want to get their production work out of the way, your club is unique in so many
different ways and aspects from other clubs, you and only you, your DJ or your manager
or servers can communicate that uniqueness. Radio Sales People don't give a darn about your account, I have seen
time and time again, they are just order takers, trying to get you to spend
as much as possible and promising the world and lucky to deliver the
block. Buying radio time is a science, cutting your spot is an art, and
getting results from the spots you run at the times you chose is a dedicated
talent.
Your Daily newspaper is the last place you want to advertise, it's to costly, it reaches far too many people that never will frequent your
club anyway, you need to target your demographics to exactly who your market
is and reach out to them. Who has the biggest increase in viewers, who has the coveted Nightclub
Market and who has the reach you need? MTV and VH-1, that's who!!!!!
These two music video channels through are back, bigger, badder and
bolder than ever. They have retooled both channels and their programming is drawing
viewers. Any Nightclub with a budget for radio, should redirect it's dollars to
MTV or for the older upscale markets VH-1.
I have recommended this to a number of my clients and the results have
been terrific. Your TV spot should be creative, and unique and cutting edge, and never
ever forget what the message you are attempting to communicate is. That is your club is the hot spot, the place to be and be seen, the
place the hot chicks love, the place that you enter and can feel the energy,
the place you have to be.
From your music and lights and sound to your interior, and your
promotions, and your extras and your uniqueness. Project all of this in your TV spot, or a series of spots.
The problem with attending Seminars is, what the Speaker is saying may
not apply to your specific club, specific Community and specific
competition.
That is why it is IMPERATIVE that you get a "customized overview
and analytical strategy" of your OWN CLUB, your OWN COMMUNITY, YOUR
OWN COMPETITION. You can't apply generic and generalizations to your situation, you need
hands on, hard information and intelligence that will enable you to
reformat, redirect and refocus your energies to making your club a success again
and bringing it back to greatness once again.
Your Club didn't go downhill overnight and it won't turn around over
night, it takes three weeks of following my direction to the T to turn a club
around.
I have done this hundreds of times.
So, stop dwelling on why your dead and get off your butt and call me
