RESTAURANTS, CHANGE YOUR MENUS, ADD NEW ITEMS!!!!!!!

So, McDonald's paid $176 million for Boston Markets and now has to
decide which units to close and which to convert into either a McDonald's , Or
one of their umbrella concepts such as Donatos Pizza, or Chipote Mexican
Grill.
When it was BOSTON CHICKEN, the Chain was smokin, but due to bad lease deals, bad locations, bad management and short on Capital, some rocket
scientist in the upper levels of Management said lets convert them to
"BOSTON MARKET," which to me was suicide.
They had KFC and CHURCH'S on the run and they had the product, the
name and the winning formula. And now....it's all over, McDonald's has once again
expanded it's
wings to encompass "BOSTON MARKET."
KFC by the way is losing money on it's chicken sandwich but they are sticking with it, Pizza Hut had dismal results lately with same store
sales falling a tad or just flat, only Taco Bell from the same Family of
chains, had a modest increase. I think the CHECKERS TV spot with the hottie speeding and bribing the
cop with a burger is despicable, what kind of signal does that send out to
our youth and how does giving a cop a burger when he wants to see your
driver's license going to sell more burgers?
No wonder Checker's stock is in the deep fryer and they are on the
verge of being 86. You must add new items and new categories to your menu, "Tex
Mex," "Tuscany", "Southwestern", "Nuovo New York
" these styles of dishes are sizzling and smashing the old thinking of stick to the basics.
You must have a specialty drink menu, and a wine list and a desert menu
you can't simply serve a dish and then chase your patron away. Your bar is more important to your restaurant than ever before.
In this day and age, you need to focus on keeping your patron in your establishment longer and for more reasons than just your great food and
service.
You must create a social climate of intimacy where singles like to
schmooze and where the white collars and professionals want to mingle and
linger. Your bar is your bread and butta, a beautiful bartender and a great bar
environment will bring you nothing but cash. Too many Restaurants don't feature their Chefs, they don't feature or
highlight their stand out attributes.
From a piano bar, to a disc jockey, from a solo guitar player to a duo
to a trio, from a magician to a physic, from a hypnotist to a palm reader,
to trivia, stop simply operating the bar area of your operation and start entertaining and enlightening your patrons with drinkertainment.
