Burger King, Wendys, & McDonalds

Home Page

IN 1990 THERE WERE CLOSE TO 17,000 BURGER KING, WENDY'S, & MCDONALD'S UNITS
IN THE USA....GUESS HOW MAY THERE ARE NOW?

By Rich Unger

Today there are close to 27,000. There are so many fast food places, that sales are flat, Companies are
panicking, seeking other restaurants to invest in and overall banging their heads against the wall in shock.
I find it so overcooked it's not even amusing.

Take McDonald's they focused on being the dominator in locations and size, that they lost their hold on product and marketing. People want more than just burgers, they want new products, and competitive
prices and a hip new attitude..... "We love to see you smile" is not going to make their cash registers open.
In fact McDonald's does have the insight to see the future is beyond fast food and it has invested heavily in casual dining Operations such as Chipotle Mexican Grills, and Donatos Pizza.

They are fully cognizant of the fact, that Casual Dining has made major inroads into fast food sales.
Wendy's is following suit, having recently announced it's expanding into casual dining. And then there's Burger King hiring their third CEO in one year, owned by British Liquor Giant, "Diageo" who have no clue how to or what to do with Burger King.

Diageo have taken a Popular Fast food entity and instead of kicking starting it, they have put it in a tail spin. Now Diageo has hired the CEO of Northwest Airlines to run Burger King. The Miami based Burger Chain needs more than an Airline Man to turn their tables around.

They have no fresh new products, marketing or excitement. They are still the "home of the Whopper" and the problem is nobody cares. Taco Bell is down 13% in same store sales, they are not the Burrito Bigshots they once were. I fault management for missteps in product and production, in marketing and in putting themselves out there as the 99 cents product presenter.

Let's not forget how the fear of "Madcow" disease has affected American's demand for Beef. Since the European Crisis, Americans are very, very concerned and careful about eating beef. We rely on the USDA to inspect and control the quality of our beef, and let us hope they are ever vigilant in their commitment. It's also the responsibility of the Fast Food Giants to reinvent themselves, to pay better wages, to treat their employees better, to create new product and new marketing, and to give the Public a reason to come back
and more frequently to their various units.

It is a task, that will take time, energy, dedication, financial investment and consistency. I would love the opportunity to turn one of these Giants around and put them on the path to profits. Sometimes the "Suits" in corporate forget whom they are targeting, why they are targeting them and how to target them.

That's why I invite these "Burger Boys" to contact me.

I can out market, out position and out sell any of them.......
I sure wouldn't be producing negative same unit sales.........
