Rich, our main Events this Month are a glo
party with all black lights, and a I kissed a girl night, best
kiss wins a prize.
Our Major Problem is, no turn out, and we
hold 1500 people.
My Response:
Why would you
with 1500 Potential Party People to attract, hold such lame
Promotions as an "All Black Lights Party" and a "I kissed a girl
Night"?
Katy Perry's hot new single is "California
Gurls", the #1 song of Summer so far. As for "I Kissed a Girl",
it's been done, spun, played and over with.
Whom ever is creating
these lame promotions
should be replaced, sad but true, this club is dying.

Rich, I own a 10,000 square foot pool hall
and sports bar, I am 35, my Partner is 65.
I agreed to let his two daughters run the
entire operation.
They have 16 different vodkas behind my bar
or shall I say " Our Bar"
I am miserable. I have no say, no input,
and feel like my investment means
nothing to them.It is my worse nightmare,
what do I do?
My Response:
The age disparity
between you and your Partner, along with your
agreeing to let his two daughters manage
the Pool Hall and Sports Bar, leaves
you very little wiggle room.
Offer to let him buy you out, because you
have put yourself up against the wall,
both in being unable to be hands on day to
day, being in the management, and in overall operational
decisions.
You are not just discussing every aspect of
this operation with him, but with his daughters as well,
Why would you relinquish a fair and
equitable management arrangement and instead give him and his
daughters almost full control?
The liquor salespeople are "playing" these
two daughters, burying them with brands and bottles that will
never pour, 16 vodkas, I would say ten of them have never been
opened or poured yet.
You are paying his two daughters to do your
job.
It is what it is, and sadly it isn't for
you.
I see The Barbarians at the gate.
Very, Very unwise business arrangement,
there is no easy solution to this two and a half year so far,
nightmare.
I cannot even fathom why you agreed to such
a one sided power play.

Hey Rich, My Club holds 400 Plus Patrons, I
opened in October of last year, the first Month was great, but
since then business has gone down so far, that this past Friday
Night I had 15 people, this past Saturday Night I had 6 people.
I am a destination location, my club looks
great, Please tell it to me straight up.
My Response:
(Shaking my
head) I feel so bad for you, when a club holds 400 Plus Guests,
and your seeing just a handful of people on weekend nights, you
have allowed your club to slowly die.
You have listened to everyone who knows
nothing and did what they said.
You have allowed competing clubs to bury
you.
Either find a source of financial flow to
reinvigorate this Club, and fast, or try to sell it, the problem
is when you attempt to sell a Club that has no business, the only
value you have are the fixtures and equipment, that no matter what
you paid for them brand new, the vultures offer you pennies on the
dollar now.
Your first year should of been a honeymoon,
you should of been packed.
You should of had Women, Women and more
Women clamoring to party at your Club.
It doesn't matter if your rent is dirt
cheap as you say, your not taking advantage of the low ball rent,
by rolling in cash, instead your flowing in red.
Why didn't you contact me before you even
opened, and not waited until before your almost gone?
Hi Rich, My Partner and I built a
beautiful three room bar, sports bar, club all under one roof and
nobody is coming in.
We tried one free weekly newspaper after
another, three in all, nobody came in, now we are trying Clear
Channel Radio, the spots are expensive, they are just 30 seconds
long, my Partner ran the spots the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
before the Saturday Event, and again, nobody showed up.
What are we doing wrong?

What are you
doing right? You are waiting far too long to market your events.
You are using forms of media that are
antiquated, outdated and have lost their ability to reach the
masses, you are not targeting your advertising, but simply
spending money throwing darts at a board and hoping one hits near
the bulls eye.
Nothing you are spending your valuable
marketing dollars on, is fresh, edgy, new,
result driven.
Your Newspaper Ads you sent me were totally
a mish mash of words with no artwork and no eye appeal.
The Radio Spot you sent me sounded like a
NASCAR Announcer talking about a wreck. No ear appeal at all.
You have zero creativity, you bounce from
one old used worn out form of advertising to another, and expect
results?
You are not even paying for the cost of the
print ads or radio spots, when nobody is even showing up. I regret
to inform you that whatever the Concept your trying to
present, NOBODY, I mean NOBODY is
interested.
Who is suggesting you waste all your money
on these totally ineffective old worn out, rode hard, put up wet,
and with a lot of lather advertising methods?
Rich, I am the Owner of a Sports
Bar/Nightclub, we are the closet bar to the College, about 5,000
students or so, during the School Year, we are packed, five nights
a week, however in the Summer, we struggle to get people in, we
have a capacity of 75 to 100 in the Sports Bar, and over 150 in
the Night Club.
We also have an outdoor patio with a fire pit, djs, Wed. Thurs.
Fri. I just feel like I need some new energy in the mix?

Where is your
Summer Game Plan? Where is your "Summer Set Of Strategies", where
is your "Summer Marketing Campaign", where is your "Summer FUN and
your Summer WOW"?
You have at least 45 more days until your
students return, how are you going to survive, let alone thrive?
Your simply throwing darts against a board,
hoping one lands near the bulls eye.
I suggested you change your way of thinking
and get creative and energized, but you chose not to. I hope you
make it through Summer, but you have no one to blame, but
yourself.

sleeps and breathes his "Beach Club", 24/7 and it shows.
He has his mind set and
nobody from any other bar can touch his.

Beach calls the "Second Best Beach In The World" and experience
"THE BEACH CLUB". It's
like Paradise and it RULES over every other bar on the Key.
What a refreshing
pleasure to see an "OWNER" who actually "GETS IT", rather than
so many Owners who have
no clue.

AN OLD, AWFUL REPUTATION ON THE WATER
LOCATION, NOW OPENED AGAIN WITH OVERPRICED FOOD AND NO ENERGY AT
ALL:
Your opening a worn out, worn down, awful
reputation, longtime waterfront outdoor, indoor , upstairs bar
and dining challenge.
Years and Years ago it was a hot spot, only
to be destroyed by drunk
owners, lame owners and dumb owners.
Now a group of Partners come along and
pour money into the A/C, the kitchen, the electrical, the
interior, fixtures, furnishings, but otherwise the place remains
the same. Can you imagine using paper napkins and cardboard plates
to serve these dishes at these prices? ( Menu listed below)
The menu is so overpriced and flawed, that
I cannot understand how any
establishment, trying to make a major
comeback in this dining depression
rolls out a menu with:
3/4 pound of peel and eat shrimp for $15.99
( That's Peel & Eat mind you)
Grouper Oscar $24.99
Baked Rainbow Trout $17.99
Six Ounce Filet Mignon $22.99
Bone in Rib Eye Steak $23.99
Half of Roasted Chicken $15.99
Grouper Sandwich $15.99
A Basic Tropical House Salad $9.00

These Partners obviously never heard of the
"Small Plate Evolution"
The Menu is way overpriced, you cannot
take a rundown, beat up, awful Reputation Location and Bring Back
Spenders and Women with a menu
that belongs in an upscale dining venue,
then in a beach type, waterfront
as the new owners call it "BAR & GRILL".
I mean it's an oxymoron. Sadly there is no
"FUN", no "WOW FACTORS".
They have no FOCUS, no FORMAT, and no
FORWORD THINKING.
The Format, the Concept, are all from days
gone by.
I tried to offer "Free Advice" but the ego,
the arrogance and the denial of the new Owners is beyond my
comprehension.
I give this place sadly a year tops, if, if
that long.
It has nothing going for it.
The Employees, I mean when you have female
servers wearing uniform tops, with their bellies hanging over the
top, what are you thinking?
When you place your first marketing, an ad
in an alternative newspaper that comes out on Thursday and your
"Soft Grand Opening" is that Saturday and Sunday,what are you
thinking? Their ad was hideous, when you close for Memorial Day
and have your Grand Opening on the Wednesday of that
Monday Holiday Week, again, what are or what were you thinking?
Someone please explain to me this entire way of operating, please,
I am still lost in the Rib Eye with the bone for $23.99( The Bone,
who wants TO PAY for the bone ?)

over Memorial Day Weekend was a total BOMB. WHEN ARROGANCE
OVERTAKES COMMON SENSE AND PRACTICALITY, HOW CAN YOU SUCCEED? They
are trying to sell "Gift Certificates" on their new web site,
Nobody, Nobody, uses Gift Certificates anymore,

Food and beverage Establishments offer
"GIFT CARDS" NOW.
It's 2010. And now, during this Try To
Survive Summer, is not the time to push "Gift Cards".
PUMP, PUSH, PACK this brand new Place.
MAJOR UPDATE TO THIS SITUATION:
TWO OF THE SILENT PARTNERS FORCED THE OPERATING
PARTNER AND HIS WIFE OUT OF THE ESTABLISHMENT BY
POLICE/RESTRAINING ORDER, THESE TWO SILENT PARTNERS ALSO VOTED TO
REMOVE THIS OPERATING PARTNER FROM ALL MANAGEMENT, MARKETING, ON
PREMISE DECISIONS, BASICALLY TELLING HIM AND HIS WIFE YOU ARE
OUT.DUE TO THIS SITUATION OF NO BUSINESS. ALMOST ALL THE STAFF
WERE LAID OFF WHO JUST WENT THROUGH TRAINING SESSIONS AND HAVE NOT
EVEN BEEN PAID FOR THOSE HOURS YET.
SHAME IT TOOK ALL THE MISERABLE MOVES, STUPID
SPENDING, FAILING FORMAT, ALREADY MADE BY THIS PREVIOUS OPERATING
PARTNER TO STOP THE MADNESS, LOSS OF HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF $.
BUT SUCH IS THE NATURE OF LETTING A PARTNER ACT ON
BEHALF OF ALL THE PARTNERS, WHEN THAT PARTNER HAS A LOSING TRACK
RECORD IN THE FOOD AND BEVERAGE INDUSTRY FOR THE PAST 20 YEARS .I
TRY SO HARD TO GET THROUGH TO OWNERS AND PARTNERS, THEY ARE LOST,
JUST LOST IN SPACE. THIS PAST SUNDAY THEY MAYBE DID $500 IN
REVENUE, WHEN THEY SHOULD OF GENERATED OVER $5,000. IN FOOD AND
BEVERAGE SALES, BUT THEY WERE DEAD, THE PLACE A GHOST TOWN, THE
MANAGERS HAVE NEVER EVER HAD THE BACKGROUND, EDUCATION, OR
EXPERIENCE TO DEAL WITH THIS CRISIS.
I TRIED AGAIN TO GIVE THEM SOME DIRECTION, BUT ONCE
AGAIN EGO AND ARROGANCE OVERTAKES
COMMON SENSE AND PURE LOGIC.

SPILL AREAS
Your one of the
fortunate bars, clubs, sports bars, lounges, your not in the midst
of a devastating Summer because of oil gushing from the "Bastard
Petroleum" Company aka "BP".
So instead of simply
saying "LUCKY ME", do something constructive and get off your
tuchus and hold a fundraiser where "ALL THE MONEY" not a portion,
you heard me all the money goes to a 100% legitimate charity that
is dedicated to rehabilitating the wild life that is covered in
oil.
Don't just hold a
benefit and give a portion, give every single penny you raise and
kick in some of your own cash to these totally real deal charities
that are in the thick of this oil, saving and attempting to save
birds, turtles, sea life, and try to restore some sense of
normalcy to this historic disaster.
For once don't
just offer your sympathy, walk the walk and take action.
